And the Journey Begins

So much has been going on. I have no officially moved into my home in Chatham. 

Ill start from Day 1 for you -

Day 1 - 4th Jan 2012

Stepped onto the plane in Sydney and got ready for my 14hr flight to LA, luckily i was seated near Hayden, Georgina and Charlotte but we all moved so we could be in the same row. We further met Simon and Beth who are from Canberra and are going to study at UCF. Got off the plane at LAX and went through customs - the longest line of my life. then we got some food and got ready to go on our next flight to Orlando. We all got to our hotel Holiday Inn and ordered in Pizza as we were hungry and exhausted. 

Day 2 - 5th Jan 2012 

Couldnt sleep but it wasnt jetlag got up at about 7am. We all went to starbucks and WALKED to Walmart - a 3mile walk with no sidewalk. never again can i say. Shopped for our bedding and then caught a cab back to the hotel. A swim in the pool the cool us off and then ready for dinner. We then went out for dinner at Applebees and went and played Putt Putt. A fun day for the first one. Back to the boys room and no sleep till 3am :)

Day 3 - 6th Jan 2012

Breakfast at IHOP followed by another shop at Walmart followed by a swim in the pool which is so so warm. Later another trip to Walmart and another swim. Then time to get ready for the NBA - AMAZING.  Chicago Bull VS Orlando Magic. Amazing atmosphere with some new friends. Back to the Boys room again and no sleep till 3am :)

Day 4 - 7th Jan 2012

CHECK IN DAY

A slight sleep in today but up early to pack and get ready to check in.  Check-in started at 12 so we strolled across the road to Vista Waaaay to check in. Got told our room and our job and a schedule for the next week. Got to our new home dumped my bags and went out again. Today I went to Walmart once again and helped the boys shop for their food and bedroom. What an experience it was. Was planning to cook a home cooked meal but we couldn't find any pots or pans in my apartment so instead we ordered Pizza. 

Day 5 - 8th Jan 2012

Day Off 

Today was a very lazy day. None of us could be bothered to do anything so we made a quick trip across to the outlets to get a few things and then went back and tanned by the pool. Got bored at Chatham and made our way to Vista to the hot spas. Was really nice but got a bit hot so we went to put our feet into the pool but instead Craig pushed me in - was so freezing i thought i was gonna get frostbite. Hungry as can be Craig, Ellie, Long and I headed to Cici's Pizza for all you can eat buffet for $5. Amazing food.. then went back to mine for a lazy night on the bed while watching tv.

Day 6 - 9th Jan 2012

Casting 

Sleep in today even though i cant. Early bus to Vista to visit the boys and help them get their stuff together. Through the first process of Cast ID - boys had to shave haha then a bus to the casting building. After being told it would take us 2hrs max we hadnt taken food etc. got to the line and it was so long. a circular queue in which we stood in for about 2.5hrs. As we were lifeguards with testing at 6 we requested that we be moved through faster. so through a secret passage way and a few cookies later we were through to the next stage a few more lines and it became 5.30pm - no hope of getting to our test now. Finally we found Jenni- recruiter; and she pushed us all through super quick. Got on the bus and off we ran to our testing. Luckily they were waiting for us. An eye test, 200m and a brick and our test was over. All exhausted but full of energy off to Hooters we went. Awesome dinner and awesome night then back to ellies for movies. 

Day 7 - 10th Jan 2012

Welcome Day

Early start to the day with an immigration seminar at 9.30am in Commons. Boring as anything but i guess it was important. Off to Walmart for food shopping. Its so hard to buy food as its like 90% full of sugar or fat. Its killing me slowly. Back to Commons for Welcome Seminar. They tried to make it fun but successfully failed at it. Fell asleep but they were really good. Off to the Outlets to pick up our white vans for lifeguarding. Thankfully we dont need crocs.  Back to the hotel to sit on the Verandah to have a chilled afternoon. Off to Cici's again with different people for dinner and back to my room to watch movies and sleep before tomorrow.

So Much to Do, So Little Time

OMG only 22 days to go.

Time has gone so fast i actually never realised how close it is.

There isnt really much important info from Disney yet or ever, it almost makes us feel out of the loop. There are alot of things i would like to know but they just dont tell us anything. I dont know what to pack and take with me. it makes it so hard, Having to clean out my room completely so my little sister can move into it makes packing so much harder. Ive pretty much packed all my boxes up its now just my suitcase and clothing to go.

Lastest news that is kinda cool is i have now found out where i will be working when in disney -

It looks pretty awesome and im quite excited. It should be pretty relaxed. 

I have now paid my $104 assessment fee which allowed me to choose my subjects. I will be studying Exploring Disney Heritage. This subject should be fun and I am in the same class as Gemma Starick and Georgina Roberts.

I have emailed to confirm my arrival time with Disney and they have confirmed my check-in time for the 7th. I will be checking in at 12pm but i plan on arriving at 9am so i can get the best room. 

Life has been getting so hectic these past few weeks. I have finished Tafe and passed so i will be graduating in July with my Diploma.

Dancing has finished for the year and i was named Senior Dancer of the Year. Very exciting as i have been working so hard this year. 

Im going on holiday next week, which makes packing 100% harder. Pretty much all the clothing im taking on holiday is what ill be packing for America. I get back 1 day before i leave for America so im struggling to work out how i am going to do it all..

I had my farewell on the weekend. It was so good to see everyone one last time before i leave. they all mean so much to me and leaving them makes it very hard. My mum made such an awesome cake. It was chocolate oreo and vanilla cookie dough flavor. Best ever. 

Thats all for now but there might be more to come before i leave for my trip of a lifetime.

When You Wish Upon A Star....

Well today was possibly one of the most exciting days ever :)
Many people received their welcome packs yesterday and I was really upset as it was a stupid public holiday for Sydney.
Today I continued to wish that I would receive it. I sat in my room and watched out my window for hours waiting. I then decided to go and dance (yes dance i never stop haha) and was listening to Beauty and the Beast when I heard and saw a postage car. I ran and waited at the door for the postman to come and deliver it. I was so excited I ran around the house screaming.

The welcome pack has all information regarding the Visa and a small booklet with dress code in it.

Colours, News and Stres

So I have been really lazy/really busy and have forgotten to write on this and I am sorry. So much has been going on in my life I cant even keep up with it.

First of all, only 97!!!! days till I step on the plane to the happiest place in the world :)

Im so happy there has been so much planning and organising but accommodation is finally booked :) I am staying at the Holiday Inn Lake Beauna Vista. I will be arriving on the 4th with Hayden McGregor, and then on the 5th Christine Worthington will be joining us and on the 6th Keillan Wong will join us. There are also alot of other people from Australia and New Zealand staying in the same hotel. PARTY TIME hahaha

Flights are booked so i shall be leaving Sydney on the 4th January 2012 with Delta, Lucky for me i have people joining me on the flight. Georgina Roberts and possibly Hayden Mcgregor will be with me. Makes the trip so much better. Im not looking forward to the long flight cause I hate being stuck in one place for so long, it gets so boring and airplanes make me so tired i just want to get out of them haha would prefer to be in business but it would never be possible as i am as poor as anything haha..

Its all starting to come together :) in the next week or so we should be receiving our lovely purple folders - these folders will have everything in it from Visa's and all other important information we need to know. When this arrives i think the whole will become more realistic. At the moment it just feels like Im getting ready for a holiday. I think i wont realise until a couple of months in when i start to feel homesick(hopefully i wont)

With more good news - All the Sydney People are finally having a meet up on 7th October. So excited to meet everyone its going to be so good to finally meet some of the people in person. We are going to Pancakes on the Rocks and then bowling/laser tag. It will be awesome i cant wait :)

So thats all for me now as Glee has come on and I need to concentrate haha :)

Its all happening so fast

So its been over a month since i last wrote and a lot has happened since then.

I've been looking at flights and the other day I went to the travel agent to get her to see what she could get me. So it looks like i will be flying out on the 4th January with Delta :)

I've been reading other blogs to get a greater understanding of what is going to happen while I'm in Disney and what i need to do for the lead up.

I have decided that without facebook this whole process would suck. I've been able to meet new people that are doing the disney program. I have met some awesome people that I know will be great friends next year.

To be honest I can not wait for the next 165 days to go.. They can not go any slower lol..
i just want to get to disney.

Im so excited, My sister is writing me a whole lot of lists so i can dress my room up college style plus she is buying me all these cookbooks so i can cook while im there :)

anyways enough for now.. when i find out more information ill tell you all

This is ME

Ive been ready previous and current Disney International Students Blogs about their experience in Disneyworld so i decided or should do one myself, thus allowing friends and familty to follow me while im  overseas.

So here is a little about myself

Name: Kimm (i like the double m)

Age: 18

Occupation: Events Management Student.

I am currently in my first year at TAFE, mind you I only have to do 1 1/2 years. I am almost finished my cert 3 going onto my diploma.

I found out about this program through a teacher at my TAFE. I was really excited about the opportunity but was not sure whether I would get in so I tried not to keep my hopes up.

I went for my interview and was so nervous but luckily they were really nice and I relaxed quickly and was able to have a good conversation about my interests and why I love Disney and what I have done in my life.

I waited forever for the acceptance and it seriously felt like a lifetime.
When i got the acceptance I went wild I drove my sister nuts :)

So basically Im going to be living in America for a year working in the Disneyworld theme parks. I will study while Im over there possibly even something through Harvard!!!!

The excitement is still here although Im nervous at the same time..
I still have like 6months to go, but there is so much to do before then
 :)
